Doha has many treasures to discover, though one of the highlights of this dynamic Middle Eastern city is the Museum of Islamic Art. No visit is complete unless you experience the splendour of the architecture and brilliant ancient pieces on display. This video is a preview of what awaits you when you visit the museum.
I’ve visited many museums around the world. The Museum of Islamic Art ranks amongst the finest around. It’s like the thought you have in your head – “I guess I better go to the museum” (out of obligation) and then you arrive there and are blown away. Everything is a work of art from the moment you arrive until you walk out the door. Simply stunning.
Doha’s Museum of Islamic Art houses one of the world’s greatest collections of Islamic Art. Masterpieces of Islamic art, including metalwork, ceramics, jewellery, woodwork, textiles, coins and glass. Their masterpieces come from both the secular and religious aspects of diverse worlds, all of which are connected by their profession of Islam, but many of which are non-religious in nature. The artworks are drawn from the treasure-houses of princes to the personal homes of ordinary people. Each object tells a fascinating story about itself and the world it comes from.
Next time you are in Doha, be sure to visit this masterpiece of a museum. You won’t regret your visit here.
